Moma's Apple Butter

1 bag of apples, peeled and cut up (enough to fill crockpot)
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
2 cups white sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. cloves, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1/2 tsp. allspice, 1/2 tsp. salt

Fill crockpot full of apples and apple cider vinegar. Cook on High for 1 hour, then Low for 17 hours.

Drain off liquid.

Add remaining ingredients.

Cook for 4 more hours on Low.

Blend with mixer until smooth. Test for desired thickness by spooning out some mixture onto cold plate. When no liquid oozes around the edges, it is thick enough.

May be canned while hot or frozen.

Makes 5-6 pints.

--This is my Moma's recipe. It is the best Apple Butter--
