Chocolate Chip-Oatmeal Cookies
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup sifted self-rising flour
1-1/2 cups quick oats
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1. Cream shortening
2. Add sugars gradually and cream well.
3. Beat in egg until fluffy.
4. Stir in water and vanilla.
5. Add sifted flour to creamed mixture.
6. Add oats, chocolate chips, and nuts.
7. Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet.
8. Bake at 375° for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool.
Makes 3-1/2 dozen cookies.
