Man Killer Pot Roast

4-5 lb. round or chuck roast
6 new potatoes white or red, peeled optional
1 dozen carrots, peeled but whole
1 large onion, sliced thick
1 can Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup
1 packet Lipton Onion Soup
6 bay leaves
2 garlic cloves, slivered
Garlic salt & pepper

Heat oven to 325 degrees

I like to brown my pot roast first on a high heat with some olive oil, but you do not need to do this.
Insert garlic slivers by making a slit with a small knife
Place roast in large roasting pan (lined with foil will save you some work later!)

Sprinkle meat lightly with garlic salt and pepper
Arrange vegetables around roast
Place bay leaves on meat
Sprinkle the dry Lipton soup mix over everything
Pour the Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup over that (you might want 2 cans if your roast is larger)

Cover tightly with foil and go shopping or go see a movie.  Roasting time...about 4 hours.
