Macaroni And Cheese Pie (old fashioned)
8 oz each of:
Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Medium Cheddar Cheese
1 (16 oz) box ready-cut macaroni noodles, cooked (will only need about 3/4 of the box)
1/2 stick butter
2 cans evaporated milk
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1. Thinly slice all the cheeses.
2. In a lightly sprayed 9 X 13 casserole, put a layer of cooked macaroni, a layer of cheese (half of each kind), half of the butter (about 6 pats) on top of cheese and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
3. Repeat layer.
4. In a large mixing bowl, mix beaten egg, evaporated milk and milk. Pour over the macaroni and cheese until milk is to the top of the dish.
5. Bake at 400° until golden brown on top. Will be milky but will fine when cooled. Leftovers taste great too.
