Macaroni and Cheese from the Box

Box of macaroni and cheese
1 scoop "ersatz" butter or
1 tablespoon high quality spread or real butter
about 1/2 cup milk or non-dairy milk
3 slices American cheese
2 tablespoons cream cheese
salt and pepper to taste

First of all, just add the contents of the box to a 4 or 5 quart saucepan and fill 3/4 full with just-boiled water, and cook for 15 minutes on low, or "simmer". If you have real butter, add 1 tablespoon of it to the mix. If it's something that is almost butter (with an aftertaste or off-taste or bargain price), hold off until the macaroni and cheese is cooked through - add the scoop when the water is turned off, and stir until the spread is melted.

Allow the mixture to cool and keep on cooking for about 15 minutes, or until most of the water is absorbed. Then, drain the remaining water out, carefully, using a spoon to keep the mixture in the pot, or a strainer (and a spoon) to keep the mixture out of the sink.

Then, add the milk and warm up the mix again, with flame or heat on low, add the cheese powder and the cream cheese and the slices of American cheese, stir, allow the cheeses to melt. Turn off heat, get out the ramekins or the plates and serve.

Serves 6 ramekins as an appetizer.
